MAHARASTRA STATE DASE’s SOCIAL JUSTICE SEMINAR

Dase Maharashtra state organized a Seminar on Social Justice and impact of globalization on Doctors along with career guidance on Sunday 11th March 2007 at Dadoji Sabhagruha Nana Chowk Grant Raod Mumbai. The undergraduate and Postgraduate students, medical officers, lecturers, private practitioners from medical, dental, ayurvedic, veterinary participated in this programme. At the beginning DASE members welcomed the decision of central government to implement reservation for SC ST in All India PG quota. Also congratulated Hon. CM Tamilnadu for not attending the DNB convocation and giving us assurance about his commitment for social justice.
Prof. Vivekkumar, JNU Delhi talked about social justice and impact of globalization on SC ST OBC Minority doctors. He explained the concept of social justice and he explained the adverse impact of globalization on doctors. The other session included career guidance for GRE, TOEFEL, IELTS, PLAB, USMLE, PG entrance, GMAT and Civil services exams.
Following resolutions were passed.
1. Implement Reservation for OBCs in All India PG entrance
2. Provide Reservation for SCs/STs/OBCs in superspeciality and DNB courses.
3. The Contract medical doctors should be regularized.
4. The book bank scheme and scholarships for SCs/STs/OBCs students should be given at the beginning of course.
5. The PG admission process should be made more transparent.
