DEMANDING PAY HIKE
DOCTORS DHARNA HELD
IN CHENNAI ON SUNDAY
Regarding this Dr.G.R.Ravindranath General Secretary DASE has issued the following press statement.
The salary of Tamilnadu government doctors are very low comparing to neighboring states .The salary and allowances ,of Tamilnadu government doctors should be increased . Time bound promotions should be given on par with the central government . The services of doctors who worked on contract basis and brought under time scale of pay should be regularized from the date of joining for the sake of getting PG seats under government quota.The M,B;B,S course duration should not be increased. In the name of compulsory service more than 32 thousand doctors posts should not be abolished. The stipend of PGs and CRRIs should be increased. Like Andhrapradesh government an act should be brought to protect the life and properties of doctors . Opening of new paying wards in government hospitals should be stopped. Vaccine producing public sector units situated at Connoor ,Kasouli and Chennai should not be closed. The temporary PG and dental doctors should be regularized.To urge the state and central governments to implement the above demands a dharna was held at memorial hall ,Chennai on 20.4.08(Sunday) morning . Dr .D.Aram ,DASE state president led the dharna in the presence of Dr.K.Muthukkumar DASE state vice president. Comrade C.Mahendran CPI state Asst secretary delivered the inaugural address . Mr.Thol.Thirumavalavan Liberation Panther delivered the key note address.Comrade T.Ramasamy MLA CPI,Comrade S.K.Mahendran MLA CPI(M) Mr.R.Ravikumar MLA Liberation Panther,Comrade C.K.Math ivanan national secretary All India Telecom Employees union,Comrade K.Balasubramanian President Tamilnadu government employees union, Dr. G.R.Ravindranath general secretary DASE, State office bearers doctors T .Mohan, R .Sunder ,P .Dorai , M.Arul Nambi ,D.Sivakumaran and U. Aravindan spoke about the demands .AITUCstate secretary Comrade S.S.Thiyagarajan delivered the concluding address .A large number of doctors and medical students participated in the dharna .
