Doctors’ Association for Social Equality (DASE) and students of K. A. P. Viswanatham Government Medical College welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict to uphold the 27 per cent OBC reservation in central institutions of higher education.
About 200 students and house surgeons expressed their endorsement by bursting crackers and cutting cakes. Muthukumar, state joint secretary of DASE, called the judgment a “blessing for students of Tamil Nadu”.
