PRESS RELEASE

DNB Medical PG Seats Admission should be Regularized.

Social Justice Should be Protected.

DASE Urges the Central Government.

Regarding this Dr. G.R. Ravindranath, General Secretary, DASE has issued the following Press Statement.

Diplomate in National Board of Examination (DNB) PG Seats are more than 3500 in numbers and more than 550 hospitals including few Government Hospitals have been approved by the Central Health Ministry to conduct PG Courses. Due to DNB, Higher Medical Education has been privatized and commercialized. Lakhs of Rupees are being demanded by the Private Hospitals from the candidate for admissions. There is No CET on Competitive Basis, No Counseling and No Single Window System for Admissions. Due to that, irregularities and corruption are taking place. There is no reservation for any oppressed community. It is a Violation of the constitution.

So, DASE requests the Government of India, to regularize the admission process through CET, and provide Reservation for OBCs/SCs/STs in this DNB Seats. In course of time DNB Courses should be incorporated and merged with the formal Post Graduate Courses. Two Systems of Higher Medical Education will Lead to confusions and problems. Moreover by-passing the MCI will deteriorate the standard of Medical Education.

Yours,

(Dr. G.R. Ravindranath)

General Secretary – DASE.
