GIVE PROTECTION TO PHC DOCTORS . DOCTORS DEMONSTRATION

IN CHENNAI ON 24.2.08

Regarding this Dr.G.R.Ravindranath General Secretary DASE has issued the following press statement.

National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) Tamilnadu Director Selvi .Apoorva IAS insults and humiliates doctors in various meetings.Tamilnadu Government should take action against her .Dr.Santhana Mari of Mullakadu PHC in Thoothukudi district was threatened by some health inspectors.Tamilnadu government should take action against those culprits. Tamilnadu government should provide protection to doctors working in PHCs,and an act should be brought like Andhra Pradhesh Government to protect the life and properties of doctors.

Services of Doctors appointed on contract basis and now working under time scale of pay should be regularized from the date of joining .Salary and stipend of doctors and medical students should be increased .All India Quota System and DNB PG medical system should be abolished .Temporary doctors services should be regularized . The Controversial compulsory service which would abolish the job opportunities of doctors should not be implemented .Medical Education and Medical care should not be privatized and commercialized.

To urge the state and central governments to implement the above demands DASE is organizing a demonstration in Chennai nearer to Memorial Hall on 24.2.08 Sunday at 4.00 PM.

DASE state president Dr.D.Aram will precide over the demonstration in the presence of Doctors P.Dorai ,R .Sundar , M .Arul Nambi,Sivakumaran.

Dr.T.Mohan state treasurer will address the demonstration.

Dr.G.R.Ravindranath General Secretary will deliver the concluding address .A large number of doctors across the state will participate in the demonstration.
