Regarding this Dr.G.R.Ravindranath General Secretary DASE has issued the following press statement.

The Union budget has given tax exemption for 5 years for hospitals to be started in urban areas . It has not provided any concession to small clinics being started in villages .Instead of strengthening the public health care system , the central budget is encouraging health insurance based health system like one which is prevailing in US and affects the poor people .The health insurance based medical care system will not be useful to our common rural poor people .It will serve the interests of the multinational health insurance companies .Our central government is implementing various health schemes for the benefit of the multinational pharmaceuticals, medical equipment manufacturing companies under the compulsion of the world bank .DASE urges the central government to allocate more funds to the tune of 5 % of GDP to the public health care system. The central government should provide interest free loans ,tax exemption and other facilities for small clinics being started in rural areas.
